It produces a weld metal with a high-manganese austenitic Hadfield steel structure that combines high compressive and tensile strength with improved ductility and toughness.

It hardens under impact as it undergoes cold deformation. The weld metal can be cut using
flame cutting (oxy-fuel) processes. Its use is not recommended in applications above 250°C. It is not stainless.
