The resulting weld is composed of low-alloy steel and is used specifically for the repair of worn-out parts and to create a buffer layer prior to hard-facing operations. It is also used in the joining of unalloyed steels and carbon steels.
It provides a filler metal with high toughness and mechanical properties that enables parts operating under friction, high pressure, and impact to resist permanent deformation.
It is possible to work with multi-pass welds. The weld bead can be easily
machined.
