KOBATEK 550 HARD-FILLER ELECTRODE 3.20 mm × 350, 5 kg package
Used for hardfacing machine parts made of carbon steel, chromium steel, Cr-Mo steels, and steels with high manganese content.
It is used in hardfacing to protect these parts against wear.
It produces a homogeneous filler metal—free of pores and cracks—in a "Cr-Mn-Mo" tool steel composition that exhibits high resistance to wear, particularly for parts operating under intense friction and pressure. The hardness of the weld metal can be reduced or increased through heat treatment.
It is possible to achieve multi-pass welds of up to three consecutive passes using Kobatek 550. The electrode is easy to strike and restike, and the slag formed on the weld bead is easily removed. No spatter occurs during welding.
