KOBATEK 551 HARD-FILLER ELECTRODE 3.20 mm × 350, 5 kg package
It has a high-efficiency (~150%) rutile-type coating. It is used for the joining of ferritic Cr-Ni
steels and cast steels with each other and with similar materials, as well as for applying a hardfacing layer to provide wear resistance.
The resulting weld metal is resistant to corrosion and wear. It provides high performance when welding steel that is difficult to weld. It provides a filler metal with high resistance to the pitting (corrosion pitting) problem frequently encountered in gears.
It does not require preheating or heat treatment when welding ferritic Cr-Ni steels. It is recommended that the surface to be hard-faced be thoroughly cleaned before the welding
process.
Hardness: 42–46 HRC (post-weld)
– Repair and preventive maintenance welding applications on rolling mill rolls, which are extensively used in the iron and steel industry;
– Repair of components used in coal mines and the chemical industry that are subject to wear;
– Continuous casting rollers;
– Parts operating in corrosive environments and at temperatures up to 450°C;
– Repair of cracks in machine housings;
– Molds used in ceramic factories;
– Welding applications performed on fatigued metals
