KOBATEK T-580 HARD-CORE, NON-GAS-SHIELDED WELDING WIRE, 2.40 MM, 15 Kg REEL
It is used specifically for hardfacing manganese steels, low- and high-alloy steels, carbon
steels, and Ni-Hard materials.
It produces a filler metal that is resistant to low-impact shocks and severe abrasive wear and contains very hard primary chromium carbides that are homogeneously distributed throughout the structure.
It cannot be cut using flame cutting methods. The resulting hardfacing metal
can only be machined by grinding. Due to its high hardness, the formation of transverse
cracks on the weld surface is natural. There is no need to use a shielding gas during welding.
Hardness: 60–63 HRC (Hardness value of the pure weld metal)
56–60 HRC (Hardness value achieved in one pass)
58–62 HRC (Hardness value obtained in two passes)
– Grinding hammers in cement plants
– Ni-Hard rollers for coal crushers
– Crusher hammer rotors
– Sand mixer arms and blades
– Fan blades
– Conveyor screws
– Slag crushers and crusher jaws
– Separators
– Conveyor chains
– Tines of sand-carrying buckets and mouth surfaces in contact with soil
– Screw conveyors
– Grinder liners
The welding arc should be kept as short as possible. Before welding,
preheating the base material is beneficial
. For applications on high-carbon steels, it is recommended to apply a buffer layer using Kobatek T-365 flux-cored wire before proceeding.
The ideal operating temperature is 375°C.
