It offers high resistance to intergranular corrosion under general corrosion conditions. It is used in the welding of austenitic Cr-Ni steels containing Ti or Nb.
Thanks to its high silicon (Si) content, the surface tension of the molten weld metal is improved, resulting in excellent spreading across the base metal.
