Luchs NiCr-3 (7015) Inconel Nickel MIG Welding Wire, 1.20 mm
This alloy is suitable for welding nickel and high-nickel Cr-Ni steels used in high-temperature applications. It is typically used in the manufacture of steam generators, boilers, and for joining and cladding steam-contacting components.
Important notes for the welding process
Care should be taken to weld with low heat input and ensure that the interpass temperature does not exceed 150°C. MIG welding
If MIG welding is to be performed, pulsed welding is recommended; however, no heat treatment is required either before or after welding.
Applications and Properties
- The 7015 SG wire, used primarily for welding steels requiring high crack resistance—such as in rotary kiln rings and gale cracks—as well as for welding difficult-to-weld steels and dissimilar steel joints, possesses high creep resistance. Shielding Gas (MIG): Argon / Shielding Gas (TIG): Argon
- – Can be used at low temperatures down to -196°C. Suitable for welding nickel alloys, Hastelloy, Inconel, and copper alloys
- Resistant to temperatures up to 1200°C in hot and oxidizing environments. The mechanical properties of the weld are not affected by heat treatment
